Job Title: Commercial Director/Accounts Director

Join the Road Haulage Association (RHA) as a Commercial Director/Accounts Director and take on a pivotal leadership role in driving the commercial strategy and business development of the organization.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position that requires a strong commercial awareness and the ability to drive growth and financial sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the commercial team, developing and implementing a robust commercial strategy, and overseeing the entire commercial budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial team and bring alignment across all nations, emphasizing the RHA's values of Collaboration, Quality, Trusted Partner, Relevance, Supportive, and Knowledgeable.
  • Develop and implement a robust commercial strategy aligned with the RHA's strategy and continuously review and refine it.
  • Oversee the entire commercial budget, ensuring prudent cost control while growing revenue wherever possible and maintaining the highest standards of service.
  • Regularly assess market trends, member needs, and competitor activities to refine and expand the RHA's commercial offerings.
  • Conduct regular feedback reviews with stakeholders, members, colleagues, and ensure that the service provided is aligned with the RHA's values.
  • Futureproof the organization by ensuring awareness of performance concerns within teams, high utilization rates, and clear succession planning.
  • Network with other trade associations both inside and outside the industry.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of the commercial team and services.
  • Lead negotiations for high-value contracts, partnerships, and collaborations, ensuring the best terms available for the RHA.
