About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Surgical Ward team as a Healthcare Support Worker. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Registered Nurses to provide exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the team in providing exemplary patient care, ensuring the highest standards of care and compassion.
  • Contribute to the support and monitoring of patients, identifying and reporting any significant changes that may affect their health and well-being.
  • Assist with the movement of patients in line with hospital policies, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Liaise with other departments and healthcare professionals on a daily basis, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working as an HCA (or equivalent) in a surgical ward environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience in ECGs, taking blood/blood pressures, and patient observations.
  • NVQ Level 3 would be beneficial but is not essential.
