Job Title: Quantum Materials Research Coordinator

The University of Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled Quantum Materials Research Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our research initiative, you will play a crucial role in facilitating collaboration across disciplines, improving our visibility, and coordinating large strategic grants.

The Quantum and Advanced Materials technologies for a Sustainable Society (QAMSS) Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) brings together Cambridge minds to drive innovation and progress. As a Research Coordinator, you will work closely with our SRI Co-Chairs and Steering Committee to develop and implement our ongoing strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing relations with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure mutually agreed aims are met
  • Communicating business needs and market drivers from industry
  • Business development and communications work for the Cambridge Graphene Centre (CGC), the Graphene Flagship, and other projects
  • Organizing inclusive activities and meetings using local facilities

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a degree-level qualification in a scientific or technical subject relevant to the role's remit. Experience in dealing with new product and/or process development for industry is required, as well as previous exposure to company dynamics and the capability to bridge the gap between research and business goals.

Excellent communication and IT skills are essential, including the ability to produce and update webpages, produce and disseminate press releases, and deal with media and press. Knowledge of IP management criteria and experience in negotiation and handling collaborations and reporting within UK and EU projects is highly desirable.

The University actively supports equality, diversity, and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society. The University has a responsibility to ensure that all employees are eligible to live and work in the UK.
