Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for leading the cost management function and ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission Management
    • Coach and mentor junior staff members to ensure effective cost management on all projects
    • Advise clients on feasibility studies and procurement options
    • Manage the estimating and cost planning stages, including presenting the final cost plan to the client
    • Tender and procure, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, and compiling the contractual documents
    • Conduct contract administration, including dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes
    • Take personal responsibility for peer reviewing cost allowances and carrying out valuations on larger projects
    • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to the client
    • Contribute to value engineering and negotiate final accounts
    • Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants at all project stages
  • Marketing and Business Development
    • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report them to the line manager
    • Develop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients
    • Lead bid submissions and identify ways to improve cost management procedures, templates, and products
  • Internal Management Accountabilities
    • Ensure that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database
    • Identify ways to improve internal systems and processes and refer ideas to the line manager
    • Lead the support, development, and mentorship of junior staff members

  • Ability to work well under pressure and delegate tasks to junior team members
