EHS Performance Manager

Position Summary: The selected candidate will oversee the Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety Management Systems, ensuring that appropriate standards are upheld for all personnel.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement EHS Safety Management Systems, supported by documentation that aligns with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the UK EHS manager to provide guidance to the site management team, ensuring adherence to all relevant EHS legislation.
- Foster a proactive HSE culture on-site by monitoring performance, ensuring legal compliance, and identifying opportunities for enhancement.
- Assist all business sectors in ensuring EHS risk assessments are conducted, including updating and generating new assessments as necessary.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the EHS Management System and communicate findings to the UK EHS and on-site management teams.
- Support and mentor managers in all aspects of HSE management, investigating root causes of incidents and recommending improvements.
- Review, audit, and update policies, procedures, and other EHS documentation in response to business changes or legislative updates.
- Participate in regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices, reporting results to management.
- Liaise with insurers and legal representatives regarding company liability claims and property protection.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental requirements as outlined in work instructions or training.
- Lead site personnel in compliance guidance and training related to Dangerous Goods.
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (Essential)
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (Desirable)
- Proficient in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and audits, providing sound business recommendations for improvements.
- Familiarity with ISO14001 Environmental Management System and OSHAS 18001.
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret data, legal requirements, and write control procedures to ensure compliance.
- Experience in accident investigations, root cause analysis, and statutory reporting.
- Experience in conducting machinery risk assessments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
