Environmental, Health and Safety Manager

About the Role
Agilent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead EHS management of site and field operations in the UK & Ireland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with national Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, including DSEAR and Environmental Permitting Regulations. They will also implement effective safety programs and practices, and provide leadership and guidance to site personnel on EHS matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of EHS professionals to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and Environmental Permitting requirements.
- Provide leadership and guidance to site personnel on EHS matters, promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and procedures in line with Agilent's EHS Management System, applicable regulations, and industry best practices.
- Support managers in completion of risk assessments, managing hazardous substances, and implementing appropriate control measures.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or a physical science or engineering degree together with a relevant professional occupational safety qualification.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a chemical production or ATEX process environment.
- In-depth knowledge of DSEAR, COSHH, Environmental Permitting Regulations, and other relevant environmental, health and safety legislation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
