The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating access to education for children and young people with intricate needs, while also working to minimize hospital admissions. We are looking for dedicated paediatric nurses who are passionate about community care.
As an independent practitioner, you will support children and young people in navigating their educational journey. Your responsibilities will include training, managing caseloads, and contributing to service improvements while offering specialized insights when required.

Key Responsibilities
We are in search of an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Children's Nurse eager to enhance their expertise in supporting children and young people with complex needs within the community.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and possess a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care that empowers children and young people to manage their health and educational needs effectively, whether at home, in school, or within community settings.
Your role will involve providing top-notch nursing care, education, and training to children and young people, as well as their families, in various environments. You will ensure that children and young people with complex needs can access educational opportunities while reducing the likelihood of hospital stays.
Additionally, you will offer clinical supervision to colleagues and students, and may engage in research and lead clinical audits within your area of expertise. Collaboration across the Children's Community Nursing Service is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of our service users, always prioritizing dignity and human rights through person-centered care principles.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Child) on the NMC register, with appropriate qualifications for the specialty.
- Demonstrated professional and clinical knowledge in the field, supplemented by specialized training and continuous professional development.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a health-related field.
- Completion of a mentorship course.
Skills and Abilities
Essential
- Proficient in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating specialized care for patients, along with providing relevant advice to patients and their families.
- Capable of working independently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information and challenging situations.
