Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Cardiologist to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heart failure and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical care to patients with heart failure, including diagnosis, treatment, and management.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct audits to ensure high-quality patient care and identify areas for improvement.
- Teach and mentor junior colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Participate in departmental management, including outpatient priorities and waiting lists.
Requirements
- Eligibility for GMC registration, including specialist register for Cardiology.
- Post CCT/CCST or will receive within 6 months.
- MRCP or equivalent.
- At least 3 years general cardiology experience, including acute cardiology and CCU.
- Experience of sub-specialist training in heart failure.
- Competent in all aspects of echocardiography, stress echo, and TOE.
- Undertaken audits and have experience teaching colleagues.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of cross-sectional cardiac imaging (CT/MRI).
- Achieved first-author publications in refereed journals.
- Departmental management experience, including outpatient priorities and waiting lists.
- Completed management courses.
- Formal undergraduate and postgraduate teaching experience.
Personal Attributes
- Willingness to undertake additional professional responsibilities at local, regional, or national level.
- Commitment to continuing medical education.
