About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Support Officer (Welfare) to join our team at Lancaster University. As a key member of our student support services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional welfare support services and guidance to students, including those under 18 years old.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
  • Assist with the organization and delivery of orientation week and presentations, promoting a smooth transition for new students.
  • Support the planning and execution of social activities, fostering a sense of community among students.
  • Respond to student inquiries and concerns regarding accommodation, providing timely and effective solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong IT and data analysis abilities, with experience in maintaining accurate records and databases.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in high-pressure situations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding student welfare, with a deep understanding of relevant policies and procedures.
