Senior Mechanical Engineer Opportunity

We're working with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy to add an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to their Bristol team. This consultancy is a respected design, engineering, and project management consultancy with a global presence.

This role involves working as part of a national practice delivering engineering design solutions to clients across the UK. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multiple sectors, with a strong understanding of Commercial, Residential, Education, or Transportation sectors.

  • Developing a deep understanding of project briefs and requirements.
  • Designing and specifying Mechanical Building Services systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and controls.
  • Producing detailed calculations using industry-standard digital tools, such as Excel, IES, Hevacomp, and in-house developed tools.
  • Collaborating with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings, with a working understanding of Autodesk Revit.
  • Representing the company at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring site works.
  • Preparing reports and technical notes.
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related subject.
  • Good computer literacy in a range of digital tools, including IES thermal modelling package, Hevacomp, NBS, and Microsoft packages.
  • Understanding of energy and carbon-related data capture and analytics.
  • Awareness of building physics principles, including passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
  • Competence in designing for measurement and verification, including experience of commissioning and post-installation evaluation of performance.
  • Experience working in a design consultancy or contractor design environment is essential.
