Role Overview:

As an Information Security Specialist, you will engage with complex systems developed by Thales. Your role will involve providing expert security architecture, technical insights, and guidance to help Thales create, develop, and sustain secure, reliable, and economically viable security solutions tailored to project requirements.

Your contributions will be vital in shaping security-compliant system architectures and influencing both preliminary and detailed design phases. This includes evaluating alternatives and conducting risk assessments.

You will join a dynamic team of specialized Engineers and Architects dedicated to delivering optimal security solutions that align with customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess threats, vulnerabilities, and potential security risks, ensuring traceability to security requirements.
  • Document and track identified security requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of security requirements, controls, and associated assurance evidence.
  • Gather and configure necessary evidence to complete the Security Case.
  • Provide justifications for selected security controls.
  • Generate reports and artifacts to support the security case, including deliverables.
  • Review feedback from users or maintainers and define corrective actions to uphold the security case as needed.
  • Facilitate technical coordination across a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Cyber Security Engineer role within sectors such as Defence, Nuclear, Government, Aerospace, Critical National Infrastructure, or Transport.
  • Proficient in defining system security controls independently or collaboratively.
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure Security Design, covering areas such as Network Security, Cryptography, Identity & Access Management, Endpoint Protection, Cloud Technologies, and Protective Monitoring.
  • Confident in advising and supporting team members.
  • Familiarity with Risk Assessment tools and methodologies across various industry sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of industry-standard frameworks and practices, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIS-2, JSPs, and MITRE.
  • Experience implementing Secure by Design principles.

Desirable:

  • Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or relevant industry certifications (CISSP, Cisco, CCP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Risk Management and Accreditation.
  • Familiarity with Systems Design Lifecycles.
  • Experience in Embedded Systems Design.
