About the Role

Venn Group is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Head of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our client's finance team. As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality support to the Head of FP&A and ensure the delivery of timely and accurate financial planning and reporting processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage the Management Accounting and Analysis team to provide a consistent and high-quality financial planning and analysis service, including 4 direct reports and 4 indirect reports.
  2. Financial Reporting: Ensure the delivery of timely, insightful, and accurate financial reporting.
  3. Process Improvement: Drive an agenda of continual improvement and innovation, keeping pace with developments in best practice.
  4. Grant Management: Responsible for grant management and reporting activities, acting as Finance Lead for all grant streams.
  5. Process Development: Ensure that clear and consistent processes and procedures are in place for different grant streams and provide support to the programme and grant directors.
  6. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, Finance Director, Deputy FDs, Head of Financial Accounting & Operations, as well as key internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Deputyship: Report to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, deputising as required and providing support and cover for one another as needed.
Requirements
  1. Professional Qualification: CCAB/ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional accounting body qualification with significant PQE in a similar role.
  2. Financial Planning Experience: Experience of financial planning and analysis covering all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  3. Grant Accounting Experience: Knowledge and experience of grant accounting and grant management.
  4. Financial Reporting Tools: Experience of implementing financial reporting and planning tools.
  5. Not-for-Profit Sector Experience: Not for profit sector experience within a large and complex organization.
