Job Summary

The Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing the planning, administration, and direction of all unit activities related to facility maintenance and engineering services. This includes managing the Fleet, Transportation, Mechanics, Maintenance, and Groundskeeping departments.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop teams to enhance their contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching, and managing performance

• Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved

• Reward and recognize employees for their contributions

• Ensure safety and sanitation standards are maintained in operation

Client Relationship and Communication

• Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial relationships

• Identify client needs and communicate operational progress

• Develop a strong level of trust and credibility regarding technical competency

• Provide technical expertise in all maintenance areas

• Provide leadership for maintenance-related areas of sales opportunities

• Customize maintenance programs based on specifications and unique client needs

Financial Performance and Management

• Responsible for building revenue and managing budget, including cost controls regarding maintenance, inventory, projects, and labor

• Ensure the completion and maintenance of P&L and client budget statements

• Understand performance metrics, data, and order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified approach

• Provide overall direction and manage performance for all Facility and Maintenance Managers, Supervisors, and front-line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement, and compliance with human resource-related policies and standards

• Ensure compliance with appropriate safety, OSHA, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards

Requirements


• Requires 3-5 years of experience in maintenance

• Requires 1-3 years of experience in a management role

• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• DOT CDL preferred

• Ability to manage as part of a larger team or manage function independently, without direct supervision

• The ability to multi-task is a must
