A sales engineer is required for a leading OEM in the cutting tool industry.

The company has a global presence, with operations on every continent. The UK-based team of sales engineers develops both new and existing business across various manufacturing sectors.

We're looking for someone with a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry, with full scope to develop and engage with clients in their area or region. There's also potential to sell products into channel partners in Europe.

Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer include:

  1. To promote and sell an innovative range of metal cutting tools to end users and distributors.
  2. Listen to customers and sales project teams to understand underlying needs and ensure suitable technical solutions are delivered to secure profitable business.
  3. Increasing sales and volume of end users of the products.
  4. Identify and develop new leads, as well as follow up on leads generated from internal teams.
  5. Work alongside colleagues and management to coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns, exhibitions, and promotional events.
  6. Document cost-saving activity and daily use/updating of the CRM system.

To be successful as a Sales Engineer, we're looking for the following skills/experience:

  1. Previous experience as a cutting tool sales engineer or an applications engineer.
  2. A proven background in business-to-business sales of technical products, ideally with cutting tools.
  3. Confident negotiation skills and ability to present to businesses at stakeholder level.
  4. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
  5. Efficient user of Microsoft 365, including TEAMS, and our CRM system for recording pipeline of new business.
  6. Full UK driving license.
