Position Overview

We are seeking motivated and skilled Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists to enhance our outpatient physiotherapy team. The successful candidates will gain valuable experience in our centralized access service, managing musculoskeletal referrals across multiple regions.

In collaboration with senior clinicians in our virtual fracture clinic, you will develop your expertise within our supportive and experienced musculoskeletal team. Opportunities may also arise to engage with our proficient hand therapy specialists.

Applicants should possess essential orthopaedic, manual therapy, and exercise therapy competencies, alongside a capacity to implement a bio-psychosocial framework in patient care. Prior experience in a musculoskeletal outpatient clinic that caters to GP and orthopaedic services is a prerequisite.

All newly appointed staff will undergo a probationary period of six months, allowing them to acclimatize to the Trust's culture and operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a high-quality physiotherapy service, optimizing patient potential within the defined service parameters.

Engage in teaching and supervisory roles with colleagues, junior staff, and students on placement.

Essential Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to recognize the limitations of personal clinical practice and identify suitable solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills in patient assessment and treatment aligned with current practices and research.
  • Understanding of clinical governance and its impact on service delivery, with evidence of its application.
  • Effective communication of complex and sensitive information in a clear and logical manner.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience supervising other staff and technical instructors.

Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • Broad clinical experience during Band 5 rotations, including musculoskeletal care.

Desirable

  • Experience working with patients in a hand therapy context.
