Foster Care Associates Scotland is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our team.

Your Role:
  • Provide comprehensive guidance and support to foster families, ensuring their well-being and the optimal care of the children in their custody.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of foster carers' competence and suitability, upholding the highest standards of child protection.
  • Deliver regular supervision sessions to foster carers, offering constructive feedback, addressing concerns, and fostering a collaborative approach.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure seamless support for foster children and families.
  • Maintain meticulous records and documentation, adhering to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute actively to meetings and provide insightful reports, sharing your expertise and perspectives.
  • Champion the active participation of children and young people in decisions that affect their lives.
  • Participate in our out-of-hours support service, providing essential assistance during evenings and weekends.
  • Engage in our day duty system, ensuring prompt and effective response to urgent matters.
Your Qualifications:
  • Possess a recognized Social Work qualification.
  • Hold a valid Social Work Registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Demonstrate exceptional report writing skills, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all communications.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and best practices within the fostering sector.
  • Be comfortable traveling extensively to visit foster families and attend meetings.
  • Confidently transport children as required, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Hold a full driving license.
