Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and supervision of the operational night shift team within the unit. You will be responsible for coordinating activities and resources to meet weekly and daily production requirements. You will be available to offer practical instruction, guidance, and support to staff.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this post include the day-to-day supervision of the operational night team within the unit, allocating work, advising, and checking work where applicable. To ensure that all items undergoing the decontamination process are subjected to applicable mechanical processes and that these are monitored and verified.

To ensure that all instrumentation sets are prepared, assembled, and packaged in accordance with defined user specifications. Ensure your team is aware of and complying with standards, protocols, and guidance relating to Sterile Services.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A management/supervisory qualification

Desirable

  • Education to GCSE level in 5 subjects including Maths and English or a decontamination qualification

Experience

Essential

  • In-depth knowledge of operating processes and procedures relating to decontamination and processing of surgical equipment
  • Previous supervisory/team leader experience

Desirable

  • Experience of managing a shift or team in achieving targets and standards
