Exciting Opportunity in Biochemistry

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Associate Practitioner to join our Biochemistry team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work under direct and indirect supervision, performing a range of automated, semi-automated, and manual techniques in our Automated and Specialist Biochemistry sections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support HCPC registered staff within the department
  • Work in a team of Biomedical Scientists to deliver day-to-day operations
  • Perform a range of techniques, including automated and manual methods
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all work

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 in a relevant science discipline
  • HCS Apprenticeship level 2 certificate of achievement level 1 or equivalent experience
  • Full training will be provided for NHS laboratory and hospital experience

About the Department:

Our Biochemistry department is one of the largest diagnostic services within the NHS, providing a diverse range of complex and specialist services for adults and paediatrics. We have full HCPC training status for pre and post-registration IBMS portfolios and full ISO 15189 accreditation.
