Our Podiatry service is both supportive and innovative, offering a wide array of treatment specialties across community and acute care settings, including Ulcers, Nail Surgery, Biomechanics, and Diabetes management. We are committed to the professional growth of our staff and provide a robust clinical rotation program. This role includes opportunities for development, with potential progression to Band 6 positions upon meeting competencies.
Newly qualified Podiatrists will have the chance to participate in our Preceptorship Programme.

In this role, you will engage in clinical rotations, including nail surgery, biomechanics, and ulcer clinics, while also participating in a preceptorship program designed to foster your professional development. Your responsibilities will involve working at various sites based on service requirements. You will manage clinical caseloads that include new patient assessments, diabetic foot evaluations, conservative podiatric care for both high and low-risk patients, and home visits for patients unable to attend clinics.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential:
- Registration with HPC
- BSc or Diploma Equivalent in Podiatry
- Certificate in Local Analgesia
Skills & Abilities
Essential:
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating accuracy in literacy and numeracy
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to independently manage domiciliary caseloads
- Proficient in interpreting and evaluating complex results using diagnostic tools such as dopplers and monofilaments
- Broad clinical experience
- Experience in mentoring junior staff/students
Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
- Evidence of participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Experience in domiciliary and new patient assessments
- Experience managing caseloads of at-risk patients
- Solid pre-registration/Band 5 knowledge and experience in routine podiatric pathology and treatments
Desirable:
- Experience in health promotion initiatives
