About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, working closely with teaching staff to help them make progress in both academic and personal development.
  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that each student's unique needs are met.
  • Lead sessions and contribute to the development of individual learning plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure effective communication and support.

Requirements:

  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification or substantial experience as a Teaching Assistant with a willingness to achieve HLTA status.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (grade C or above).
  • Experience working with SEN students is essential.
  • Ability to work across different sites if required (all local).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
