Hutcheon Mearns is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Advisor Trainee to join our team in Aberdeen City Centre. As a Tax Advisor Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of our client's taxation strategy, monitoring and managing the UK's effective tax rate, and maintaining relationships with auditors and professional advisors.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an Accounting and/or Finance Graduate to pursue a career in Tax. Our client will provide support to obtain a professional tax qualification, as well as hybrid working and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing the Group's taxation strategy
  • Assist with monitoring and managing the UK's effective tax rate
  • Assist with monitoring UK tax affairs
  • Maintain relationships with auditors and professional advisors
  • Provide support to Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Business in relation to material tax matters
  • Maintain relationships with UK tax authorities as appropriate

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Accounting and/or Finance or a similar relevant subject. Placement or internship experience would be desired but is not essential. You will be keen to learn and develop within your career, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to use initiative.
