Role Overview:

The PLC Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing support during breakdowns and executing preventative maintenance on Siemens PLC systems, while also assisting with the upkeep of production machinery as necessary.


Key Responsibilities:
Essential skills in PLC troubleshooting and programming are required.

  • Collaborate with the Automation Control Team to implement pre-established workarounds or temporary adjustments to PLC programming in the event of hardware failures, ensuring minimal disruption to operations during repairs.
  • Work alongside the Automation Control Team to identify and rectify PLC code issues, deploying necessary code corrections when applicable.
  • Conduct frontline investigations of live production PLC systems through online code monitoring to diagnose and resolve faults or failures in equipment or programming.

Additionally, the role involves:
  • Utilizing diagnostic tools for non-code related issues, including Profibus and Can Bus networks, as well as Bar Code Readers.
  • Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of machinery and processes.
  • Occasional electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.

All work completed and materials utilized must be documented through a computerized maintenance management system.
