About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate healthcare professional to join our team as a Functional Assessor. As a Functional Assessor, you will play a critical role in evaluating the impact of health conditions and disabilities on an individual's daily life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial reviews, paper-based, face-to-face, video, or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant's health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life
  • Create comprehensive 3,000-4,000-word reports of the evidence gathered for each claimant, each day
  • Observe and report on an individual's ability to carry out activities while analysing and interpreting clinical information and supporting evidence
What We Offer

We take the training and development of our Functional Assessors seriously. You will begin with a 12-week training programme, with time set aside for self-development learning. We also have 3-day and 4-day training options available.

Our client provides a supportive environment, with close mentorship provided as you work on your ongoing development. You will have the opportunity to work from home and be assigned to work from your nearest assessment centre on a rota basis to deliver face-to-face assessments.

Requirements
  • One year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathise, and dig deeper
  • The ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute
  • Demonstrable experience with using IT and Microsoft Office, as well as remotely accessing systems such as MS Teams
Salary and Benefits

Everyone starts at £38,500 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus a 5% retention bonus. On achievement of remote approved status, your salary will increase to £39,900 plus up to 10% bonus. On achievement of face-to-face delivery, your salary will increase to £41,500 plus up to 10% bonus.
