Job Summary
Three Bridges Recruitment is partnering with a renowned professional services organisation in Edinburgh to find a skilled Payroll Officer for a part-time (21 hours per week) permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the external payroll provider to develop and maintain strong relationships.
- Work closely with the Finance department to deliver monthly and annual payroll reports and analyses.
- Ensure payroll records are accurately maintained and promptly updated.
- Revise payroll procedures as needed and communicate any changes to the HR and Finance teams.
- Verify the accuracy of monthly payroll reports and ensure proper approval.
- Maintain standardised documentation for audit compliance to mitigate potential risks.
- Ensure statutory payments are properly documented and processed in accordance with legal requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison between the HR department and other teams on payroll and budgetary matters.
- Provide the Finance team with monthly reports comparing payroll budgets to actual costs.
- Prepare monthly payroll forecasts and budgets.
- Ensure timely payment of employees.
- Conduct reconciliations between payroll data and the general ledger.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of reward and benefits, including payroll management, tax, pension, SSP, SMP procedures, legislation, and calculations.
- Extensive experience in payroll, ideally supported by a relevant qualification.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel and formula creation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- A positive and adaptable attitude, committed to delivering high standards in a fast-paced environment.
