About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software/Firmware Engineer to join our team at Carrier's state-of-the-art Engineering facility in Herne Bay, Kent. As a key member of our international team, you will play a crucial role in designing software and firmware to support the development of life safety products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop software and architecture for new and existing embedded systems.
  • Design and develop support and configuration tools for desktop and/or web deployment.
  • Participate in conceptual work, technology analysis, and product definition.
  • Collaborate with a team of analysts, test engineers, and HW engineers as part of a focused project team.
  • Ensure quality and control of work in the entire continuous integration – continuous deployment (CICD) pipeline.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and unit testing to ensure coding quality and reliability standards are met.
Requirements:
  • Minimum degree qualification in software development or computer science or equivalent industry experience.
  • Practical experience in C/C++/C# programming languages for both embedded and desktop application development.
  • Strong knowledge of microcontrollers and experience with STM, TI, and Renesas microcontroller families.
  • Familiarity with debugging and version control best practices.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware and general electronics.
