OLG Recruitment is seeking a Lead Technical Trainer to support our client in delivering exceptional training solutions across the UK. This is a permanent, field-based role that offers flexibility and includes the provision of a company vehicle. The standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with the option to work from home as needed.

Role Overview:

In this position, you will collaborate closely with customers throughout our value chain, providing high-level technical training and support. Your responsibilities will include system builds, compliance checks, and reporting back to clients while advising them on the effective use of our products and systems. Drawing from your trade experience, you will also conduct practical demonstrations and deliver high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions or product training tailored for professionals in the drywall sector. Your expertise in materials, systems, and installation processes will be invaluable in supporting our Research and Development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Health and Safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  • Promote products and systems, as well as the Technical Academies, in a professional manner through various channels, including presentations and customer interactions.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders (R&D, Technical project teams, Marketing, Manufacturing, etc.) using your trade knowledge. Assist with trade events, demonstrations, and training sessions, including site compliance inspections and reporting.
  • Deliver inspiring and high-quality teaching and learning experiences, facilitating constructive conversations with customers.
  • Conduct impactful CPDs, training sessions, demonstrations, and Toolbox Talks for various stakeholders, including construction colleges and main contractors across the UK and Ireland, while assessing learner competence.
  • Develop and manage new CPDs and training courses to address skills gaps and enhance industry understanding, including flexible agendas and workshops.
  • Maintain training diaries and manage bookings for CPDs, training, and Toolbox Talks for designated regions, aligning with KPI expectations.
  • Support the case management process through investigation and feedback to relevant stakeholders, including the claims team.
  • Assist with product testing at independent laboratories, providing necessary feedback to ensure product success.
  • Regularly utilize and store site reports on the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and capture project data.
  • Drive improvements within the External Technical Team and the broader Technical Team.
  • Perform any additional duties as required to fulfill your role.
  • Previous experience in the drywall or building industry is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
  • Training qualifications such as Petals or AET are advantageous.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills are required.
  • Proficiency in IT and digital platforms, including Microsoft applications, is necessary.
  • A valid UK driving license is required.
  • High attention to detail and structured problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Efficient diary management skills are important.
