Job Title: Director of IT OfficeJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of IT Office to join our team at UN Habitat. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the ICT Department and implementing strategies to safeguard Institute interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • ICT Infrastructure Management: Manage the Placement Service's ICT Infrastructure environment, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to the ICT Department, implementing strategies to safeguard Institute interests.
  • Server, Systems, and Network Support: Provide server, systems, and network support and administration, ensuring seamless operation of ICT systems.
  • Installation and Support Services: Install and support services on LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and other ICT systems.
  • Business Requirements Analysis: Document business requirements for ICT systems, analyze impact of software changes, and prepare technical specifications.
  • System Documentation: Provide systems documentation and user manuals, ensuring easy understanding of ICT systems.
  • User Training: Analyze user training needs with regard to ICT systems and organize and execute such trainings as and when need arises.
  • System Security: Advise on, implement, and maintain system security and user access controls with regard to ICT systems.
  • Analysis, Design, and Implementation: Analyze, design, program, and implement systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • ICT Automation: Involve in ICT automation of operations, project implementations, project rollouts, project improvements, and system integration projects.
  • Contractual Relationships: Manage contractual relationships between ICT service providers and the Institute.
  • ERP Implementation: Ensure implementation of the ERP as per approved schedule and recommend effective solutions to the ERP system, processes, and customization in line with the Institute's strategic plan.
  • ICT Solutions: Develop new and innovative ICT solutions (intranet, web systems, etc.) and/or improve existing systems to solve existing problems and ensure optimal and secure utilization of ICT.
  • ICT Support: Offer ICT support, installation, maintenance, and advice services to users with regard to software, hardware, networking, website updating, backups, etc.
  • Quality Guidelines: Develop and implement quality guidelines and procedures on hardware and software.
  • Computing Requirements: Analyze computing requirements, identify infrastructure requirements, and initiate improvement projects.
  • Future Programme Requirements: Forecast and plan future programme requirements, including modernization and/or upgrade of existing facilities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop, deploy, and maintain performance monitoring and reporting systems that provide management and technical reports for decision making and operational support.
  • Information Systems: Coordinate, schedule, and manage information systems to meet user requirements.
  • Automation of Offices: Facilitate automation of all offices, including inter-office communication.
  • Supplier Relationships: Establish a strong working relationship with external suppliers to enhance productivity and manage costs.
  • Staff Management: Manage, lead, and develop staff.
