About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Radiographer to join our team at University Hospital Wishaw. As a Specialist Radiographer, you will be responsible for justifying, authorizing, and performing radiographic examinations, providing direct care and a high-quality diagnostic imaging service to patients referred from clinicians and other referrers in NHS Lanarkshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of radiographers and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of service delivery.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in radiography and medical imaging technology.
  • Provide training and education to junior staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
Requirements
  • Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC registration.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate expertise in a relevant area of practice.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards in radiography.
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies, and procedures associated with radiography.
  • Leadership skills to enable the day-to-day management of service delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
