We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Sibling Support Specialist to join our Family Services Team at Acorns Children's Hospice Trust. As a Sibling Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support to siblings of children cared for by Acorns, ensuring they receive the necessary care and support to cope with the loss of their brother or sister.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of siblings' needs, working closely with the child, their parents, and carers to identify areas of support.
- Provide individual and group-based support to siblings, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches to promote emotional well-being and resilience.
- Coordinate and deliver groups, workshops, and occasional residential weekends, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for siblings to share their experiences and emotions.
- Collaborate with other Sibling Support Specialists to ensure the objectives of the service are met, promoting a cohesive and effective support network for siblings.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a professional degree-level qualification in a relevant field, such as social work, nursing, or play therapy. You will have extensive experience working with children and young people, providing one-to-one therapeutic-based support, and group work. Additionally, you will have a strong understanding of bereavement and loss counseling, with the ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
What We Offer- A competitive salary of £27,000 to £37,000 per annum, plus additional allowances.
