Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Support Worker for our client who provides exceptional care within children's services. This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Mentor a Team: Provide guidance and supervision to a team of support workers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  • Develop Individualised Care Plans: Create and implement tailored care plans for children, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Support Personal Development: Help children build life skills and achieve their goals, promoting their overall well-being and independence.
  • Maintain High Standards: Ensure that high standards of care and safeguarding are maintained at all times, adhering to relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Professionals: Work closely with other professionals, including social workers, teachers, and healthcare providers, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
  • Conduct Assessments and Reviews: Conduct regular assessments and reviews, maintaining accurate records and documentation to inform care planning and decision-making.
  • Contribute to Service Development: Participate in the development of service policies and procedures, ensuring that they are effective and meet the needs of children and families.
  • Provide Training and Support: Offer training and support to less experienced staff, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Relevant Qualifications: Hold relevant qualifications in health and social care or a related field, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Have significant experience working in a support role within children's services, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrate experience in a supervisory or leadership role, including staff management and development.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess a sound understanding of child development and safeguarding procedures, as well as strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Organisational and Problem-Solving Abilities: Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, and have a full UK driving licence.
