Job Summary:

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team in Shrewsbury. As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 14-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to young people, promoting their independence and well-being in a therapeutic care environment.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of young people, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of individual care plans, guidelines, and preferred methods of communication.
  • Support young people in participating in activities and taking responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
  • Provide support for taxing behavior safely and sympathetically, dealing with challenging behaviors when needed, and maintaining a safe environment for young people.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Contribute to maintaining a homely, friendly culture and environment in the home.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker, working with young people or other social care experience is desirable.
  • You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 22.
  • NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
