Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse to join our team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse in a surgical speciality. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of nurses in the delivery of patient care, ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care and treatment.
  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure that patient care is delivered in a safe and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient care is coordinated and effective.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure that patient care is meeting the required standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Teaching Qualification, SLIP/Mentorship
  • Experience at Band 5 Level within surgical speciality (minimum 24 months)
  • Deteriorating Adults Course
  • Post Registration Course related to surgical patient or high acuity care patient
  • Demonstrable experience within relevant specialities
  • Experience of caring for patients with acute and long term conditions in an acute setting
  • Previous Band 6 experience within a surgical admissions/assessment setting
  • Appraisal Experience
  • Audit experience and understanding of KPIs

Desirable Criteria

  • Complaints and risk management
  • Awareness of patient experience, quality and safety agenda's that support Governance framework
  • Understanding of finance and budget
