Deputy Chief Nurse Opportunity

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our Trust and delivering high-quality patient care.

About the Role

The Deputy Chief Nurse will provide strategic leadership and support to the Chief Nurse in the delivery of our Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals strategy. This will involve working closely with Care Group Directors of Nursing and other clinical leaders to promote the highest standards of care and behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Chief Nurse and provide leadership to the nursing and midwifery workforce
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Lead the development of key performance indicators and monitor performance at ward and specialty level
  • Work with the Care Groups, Information Team and Chief Operating Office to develop an integrated performance and quality report
  • Provide expert professional advice and direction regarding clinical standards and statutory duties
Requirements

We are looking for a Deputy Chief Nurse with significant experience in clinical governance, quality improvement, and workforce strategy. You will have a strong track record of improving CQC standards and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
