Supporting Students with Autism and Associated Difficulties

About the Role
The Learning Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism and associated difficulties on courses designed for those with Autism and associated difficulties. This will involve facilitating individual learning programmes, providing support to learners in small groups and 1-1 activities when attending the ASC Centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate individual learning programmes to meet the needs of learners
- Provide support to learners in small groups and 1-1 activities
- Collaborate with ASC Coordinators to develop creative and purposeful lesson plans
- Support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities
- Personal care may be required as part of the role, with training provided
Requirements
- Resilience, motivation, initiative, and patience are essential for this role
- Good communication skills to work with tutors and coordinate with the team
- A willingness to learn about Autism and associated difficulties is essential
