Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead our team in delivering high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering judgment and expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage engineering activities to ensure that they result in civil/structural schemes that are affordable, meet programme requirements, and are safe and environmentally responsible.
  • Coordinate and manage engineering activities to ensure that civil/structural design deliverables meet Network Rail standards / Building Regulations.
  • Manage resources, junior engineers, and CAD technicians to complete deliverables.
  • Monitor specific projects to ensure they are engineered to the standards and specification of the client.
  • Implement systems and procedures to maintain a cost-effective, high-quality, safe, and environmentally responsible approach to design, construction, commissioning, and other technical activities on relevant projects.
  • Support the CEM in the preparation of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and Common Safety Method HAZID/HAZOP analysis to allocated projects.
  • Identify and share best practice across the various project teams.
  • Support the growth of the Civil Engineering team, recruitment of technical staff, and manage the mentoring of junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer Registration status with the Engineering Council (UK) and be registered with an appropriate professional institution.
  • Project and team-running experience in UK consultancy, client, or contractor organisation.
  • Excellent understanding of Eurocode, Network Rail, and associated rail standards, and related regulations (CDM, CSM, RIR).
  • Excellent engineering, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • CITB CSCS scheme.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Understanding of interdisciplinary design within rail environment.
  • An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works, including low carbon design.
  • IT competence in remote working and facilitation of digital workshops.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance.
