We are seeking motivated individuals for the role of Junior Revenues and Benefits Administrator.
Location: Dumfries and Galloway
Salary: £23,000 - £24,000
The Financial Wellbeing and Revenues division within the Communities Directorate is tasked with the management of various financial assistance programs, including Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payments, Housing Benefit, Free School Meal and School Clothing Grant assessments, among other responsibilities.
This is an excellent opportunity for two Junior Revenues and Benefits Administrator positions. These roles will span a period of up to three years, focusing on key service areas such as Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates billing and collection, as well as Benefits and Welfare administration. Throughout the training phase, successful candidates will pursue a one-year Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) Level 3 Certificate.
These positions are situated within dynamic Revenues and Benefits teams. In addition to managing Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates, the role will involve addressing inquiries from the public through various channels, including phone, online, and in-person interactions.
The ideal candidates will demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to a constantly evolving environment. Upon successful completion of the three-year training program and attainment of the IRRV Level 3 Certificate, the role will advance to a Band 5 salary level.
