Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer to join our team at the Office for Environmental Protection. As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for providing financial support to our organization, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions, and maintaining a high level of financial integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Administration: Manage the finance mailbox, respond to queries, and ensure all financial transactions are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Accounts Payable: Process purchase orders, invoices, and credit notes in our finance system (Sage), ensuring compliance with OEP finance policies.
  • Invoice Management: Liaise with suppliers, resolve payment queries, and ensure prompt payment of invoices and credit notes.
  • Supplier Statements and Reconciliation: Manage supplier statements, reconcile discrepancies, and liaise with suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist the Management Accountant in preparing monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and accruals and prepayments schedules.
  • Staff Expenses: Monitor staff expenses, ensure compliance with OEP finance policies, and provide guidance to staff on expense claims.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: AAT book-keeping qualification or equivalent, or proven practical experience of book-keeping.
  • Experience: Previous experience in accounts payable, knowledge of accounts payable processes, and good attention to detail.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work at pace, prioritize, and organize effectively, and adapt to changing circumstances.
