Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Library Services Associate to join our team at a prestigious academic institution. In this role, you will assist patrons in navigating the library's resources and facilities.

Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks at service desks, ensuring that you deliver exceptional customer service to all visitors and library users.

Additionally, you will engage in the organization and management of library materials, including sorting and shelving books, as well as participating in collection management initiatives throughout the library's reading areas. This is a permanent, full-time role requiring a commitment of 36.5 hours per week. The position entails physical activities such as lifting and moving books, along with the use of trolleys. Comprehensive training will be provided.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess at least a GCSE level education or equivalent, with strong communication skills to interact effectively and courteously with library users, colleagues, and the public.

Proficiency in general IT skills and a demonstrated ability to carry out routine tasks with precision and care are essential.

Dependability and the capacity to perform well under pressure while collaborating with a team in a dynamic environment are crucial attributes.

While prior experience in library services is preferred, familiarity with library management systems and databases will be advantageous, although training will be available as needed.
