Automotive Safety Evaluation Specialist

As a pivotal member of our corporate system safety governance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of automotive embedded systems. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the advancement of mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough and independent evaluations of automotive embedded systems within our portfolio to assess their adherence to ISO26262 standards, covering various domains such as chassis systems and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
2. Provide comprehensive reports on the safety status of projects to senior management, integrating insights into ZF's overall risk management framework.
3. Identify and escalate system safety concerns to upper management, offering your expertise to aid in resolving issues identified during confirmation reviews and audits.
4. Assume responsibility for series releases from a safety perspective, including the authority to halt releases if necessary.
5. Collaborate with development teams to establish and monitor improvement initiatives aimed at achieving excellence in functional safety.
6. Foster a synergistic relationship between functional safety, SOTIF, and cybersecurity to ensure robust protection of our systems.
Your Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing safe embedded systems, with roles such as safety engineer or functional safety manager.
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards, particularly ISO26262, and associated methodologies.
- Ability to maintain an independent perspective while leveraging practical experience.
- Willingness to travel (up to 30%) and proficiency in business English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
