Job Title: Clinical Business Support Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Business Support Manager to join our team at Velindre University NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Medical Director and Executive Director of Nursing, AHP & Health Science to ensure the successful delivery of the Trust's collaborative strategic clinical and scientific requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic clinical and scientific support to the Executive Medical Director and Director of Nursing, AHP & Health Science.
  • Manage the delivery of the Trust's Clinical and Scientific Strategy, including coordination and management of all refreshes and the delivery plan.
  • Provide business support to deliver and drive required clinical and scientific strategic work programmes, ensuring they are delivered in line with scope, meet organisational and divisional requirements, and are on schedule.
  • Project manage and provide leadership to clinical and scientific strategic improvements/projects.
  • Undertake national and international benchmarking.
  • Analysis and interpretation of key clinical and scientific strategic information to support key strategic decision making.
  • Manage and coordinate the Trust's Schwartz Rounds to help share key learning from clinical and scientific events.
Requirements:
  • Recognised management qualification or educated to masters level in a relevant subject, e.g. Business Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • PRINCE 2.

  • Able to develop long-term complex service strategies and to plan and deliver programmes.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to have corporate overview. Ability to balance strategic and operational management.
  • Advanced conceptual thinking, reasoning, and numeracy and the ability to develop and compare a range of options based upon complex facts or situations.
  • Able to organise multidisciplinary meetings and events.
  • Advanced communication, negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy.
  • Analyse information from numerous sources.
  • Advanced IT/keyboard skills.
Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time position based at Trust Headquarters, Nantgarw, with a hybrid working arrangement involving 3 days office-based and the remainder working remotely. The post holder will also be required to work from other sites across the Trust.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, and Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
