Lead Technical Asset Manager

BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technical Asset Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Technical Asset Management Team, you will be responsible for guiding and managing a team of Technical Asset Managers and Regional Site Managers to meet contractual deadlines and demands.

About the Role

The successful candidate will take ownership of the BayWa r.e. portfolio of wind farms, ensuring successful delivery of the contracted scope of services. You will set out and report to the Senior Operations Manager on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor department performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for OPEX management for the team and SPV budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Guiding and managing a team of Technical Asset Managers and Regional Site Managers to meet contractual deadlines and demands.
  2. Taking ownership of the BayWa r.e. portfolio of wind farms and ensuring successful delivery of the contracted scope of services.
  3. Setting out and reporting to the Senior Operations Manager on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor department performance.
  4. OPEX management for the team and SPV budgets.
  5. Escalation point of contact for clients on issues in the projects, with responsibility for organizing regular update calls and producing monthly reports.
  6. Participating in the adoption and integration of new projects into operations.
  7. Identifying, selecting, and managing local companies to undertake works.
  8. Ensuring works are organized to maximize performance and safe operation of the plant.
  9. Ensuring that all activities are carried out under the approved UK HSE system and/or in compliance with other industry rules and regulations.
  10. Leading on contractual/commercial matters with O+M providers, including verification of availability reports.
  11. Assisting with regulatory issues on behalf of the client, e.g., communication with local authorities.
  12. Participating in and verifying routine HSQE and technical audits of wind sites assets and operations.

Requirements

  1. Background in Engineering or a relevant discipline and a proven track record in Project Management.
  2. Excellent line management skills and the ability to work with a variety of key stakeholders.
  3. Demonstrable experience in the understanding and management of contracts.
  4. Knowledge of wind turbine technology and operations.
  5. Knowledge of SCADA systems as well as analysis of technical data.
  6. Naturally well-prepared and organized, able to deal with competing priorities, manage a diverse workload, and meet targets and deadlines.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively influence and negotiate at various levels.
  8. Excellent IT skills.
  9. Due to the nature of the role, there is a requirement for a valid driving license.
  10. Knowledge of HV systems, UK Grid Requirements, programming for the analysis of technical data desirable.
  11. Understanding of UK HSQE legislation and valid IOSH or NEBOSH qualification and Project Management qualification desirable.
  12. GWO experience.
  13. Technical Asset or Site Management Experience.
  14. Eligibility to work in the UK.
