Lead Procurement Specialist

A Lead Procurement Specialist is sought for a dynamic organization specializing in contracts and procurement. This role offers a flexible working arrangement, allowing for a hybrid work environment, and is structured for part-time engagement.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Lead Procurement Specialist, your responsibilities will encompass a range of activities, including but not limited to:
- Project Leadership: Spearhead procurement initiatives and tendering processes, which includes organizing and participating in project review meetings.
- Options Appraisal: Conduct thorough assessments of procurement options to recommend the most efficient methods for acquiring necessary goods and services.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage potential risks associated with procurement activities.
- Contract Development: Collaborate with legal teams to formulate contracts and related documentation.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze expenditure data on goods and services to inform procurement strategies.
- Policy Awareness: Promote understanding of procurement policies through various initiatives.
- Tendering Portal Management: Oversee the implementation and management of a tendering portal.
To be considered for the Lead Procurement Specialist position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement.
- Proficiency in creating tender documentation, preferably within the public sector.
- Experience in managing tender processes.
- Familiarity with procurement regulations and a solid understanding of contract law, risk management, and contract administration.
- Ability to access, interpret, and manipulate data effectively.
- Strong commercial acumen and cost awareness.
- Possession of or progress towards CIPS Level 3 or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
