Job Overview
The successful candidate will supervise both Junior and Senior Electricians and ensure day-to-day site compliance to relevant industry standards and legislation, including Health & Safety, COSHH, fire regulations, facilities management, and general safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical installation, test, and commissioning as required to support the demands of the portfolio fleet.
- Liaise closely with the Fleet Department and Production Managers to ensure electrical services within all units are maintained to a safe and regulatory compliant standard.
- Develop and implement an electrical testing regime to ensure all units meet British Standards, HSE requirements, and implement a certification process to demonstrate compliance to clients, prospective clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Plan the electrical resource requirements and labour and materials to meet those requirements, adopting best practice asset planning and lean principles to achieve reduced lead times and continuous improvement.
- Work with tenders and potential suppliers to ensure the best value and most effective solutions to issues or problems are identified.
- Develop associated electrical schemes which can be accurately costed, and provide accurate documentation for projects that are not commercially viable.
- Calculate electrical loads to ensure electrical infrastructure/schemes will support the electrical demands of the equipment within the installation.
- Review the electrical configuration of units to maximise electrical standardisation and standardisation of electrical components across the whole portfolio fleet.
- Provide electrical installation advice to the Company as required and ensure sufficient stock is held to enable timely and proper completion of work, while minimising stock levels and environmental impact.
Requirements
- Fully qualified 17th/18th Edition (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) with proven experience in electrical Installation & Maintenance.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements relating to the sector and C&G 2391 or 2394/5 testing & inspection or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence and at least 3 years supervisory experience (ideally holding a nationally accredited certificate or diploma in supervisory management).
