Role Description

We are building an exciting new Low Carbon Finance Services (LCFS) team in London, which will be at the centre of delivering innovative and effective processes as we grow into a large-scale renewable energy company.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Monthly Management Reporting: Prepare comprehensive management reporting packs for a portfolio of companies, providing timely and accurate financial insights.
  2. Statutory Financial Statements: Prepare and review statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and liaising with auditors as needed.
  3. Process Improvement: Assist in updating, improving, and implementing procedures for the finance team, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  4. External Partnerships: Liaise with external partners, including auditors and providers of debt finance, to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  5. Internal Controls: Support with controls compliance and other internal controls requirements, maintaining a strong control environment.
  6. VAT Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely VAT reporting, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  7. Customer Relationships: Maintain close relationships with customers (within Low Carbon and Third Party Asset Management) to ensure responsiveness to their needs, track service delivery and performance, and support escalation and resolution of any performance issues.
  8. Asset Onboarding: Assist with the onboarding and management of new assets, ensuring a smooth transition.
  9. Financial Commentary: Prepare commentary on variances (budget vs. actual vs forecast), providing insightful financial analysis.
  10. Technical Accounting: Apply technical accounting and regulatory knowledge to the preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements.
  11. Professional Relationships: Develop sound professional working relationships with colleagues across LCFS, the wider Low Carbon team, and external customers, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business.
Skills & Experience
  1. Qualified Accountant: Hold a recognized accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  2. Excel Skills: Possess excellent Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and present complex financial data.
  3. Management Accounting: Have experience of management accounting and reporting within a demanding, high-growth business.
  4. SPV Experience: Experience working with an SPV structure within Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, or similar industry (desirable).
  5. Finance Operations: Experience working within finance operations or Record to Report (R2R), and/or experience of delivering a continuous improvement agenda.
