We are seeking an experienced Application Database Administrator to join our team at Barclays Bank UK PLC. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality infrastructure solutions to support our applications and data systems.
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Development: Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use.
- Incident Management: Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address, and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages, using data to drive down mean time to resolution.
- Automation: Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, utilizing software scripting/coding disciplines.
- Security: Implement secure configurations and measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, vulnerabilities, and other security threats, including protection of hardware, software, and data from unauthorized access.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements, devise solutions, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives via a data-driven approach.
- Professional Development: Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Consultation: Provide advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Risk Management: Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
