Railway Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Railway Technician to join our team at Reading Train Care Depot. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the preventative and reactive maintenance of Class 387 & 16X rolling stock.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out safety critical and non-safety critical tasks in accordance with controlled technical instructions on Diesel and Electric rolling stock.
- Plan/Co-ordinate tasks with others working on the same unit / vehicle(s) or location.
- To carry out maintenance activities, fault finding & rectification and defect reporting.
- Provide technical support at mainline stations as required
- Create and maintain the necessary safe conditions for work activity.
- Work away from home location, dependent upon personal contract and/or roster requirement
- Pro-active and able to work as part of a team, or alone as required.
- Able to plan your workload to meet tight constraints.
- Able to work weekends, bank holidays and live within a reasonable distance of Reading Train Care Depot.
- Be from a recognised engineering background.
