About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Team Leader at Blossom Lodge Day Nursery. As a key member of our Early Years team, you will be responsible for supporting practitioners in meeting the needs of individual children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting practitioners in meeting the needs of individual children and families.
  • Being a key person to a small group of children, planning and assessing their progress in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Ensuring children's basic needs are met, including hygiene routines, meals, and sociable eating.
  • Planning and carrying out large group activities that meet the needs of individual children and working with their interests.
  • Documenting the development of children within your key group and sharing this with parents/carers.
  • Liaising with parents/carers daily.
  • Setting up a safe and stimulating environment for children, including packing away.
  • Promoting positive attitudes and behaviour at all times, providing a non-discriminatory environment that values and respects each child and family.
  • Ensuring an inclusive and safe environment, having regard for SEN and safeguarding procedures and legislation.
  • Being committed to providing a play-based approach for children's learning.
  • Following the Early Years Foundation Stage framework in guidance with your practice with children.
  • Being responsible for equipment and resources, reporting when resources are running low.
  • Encouraging parental involvement within the nursery, including parents' consultations, events, and using parents as partners in their child's learning.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification.
  • GCSE's A*-C/4+ in English Language and Maths, or equivalent i.e. functional skills.
  • Must obtain a clear DBS.

Working Hours:

  • Blossom Lodge Day Nursery is open between the hours of 08:00-18:00 Monday-Friday.
  • Working hours will be 44 hours per week across 4 longer days and 1 half day.
