We provide both onsite and offsite reprocessing, along with dependable instrument maintenance services. Training and Working Pattern
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday on a rotational schedule:
Week 1: 7:00-15:00
Week 2: 12:00-20:00
+ 1 in 4 weekends cover and on-call responsibilities outside of regular hours.
What is Involved?
- Effectively preparing sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, and equipment) through decontamination, inspection, assembly, and packing, adhering to established quality standards.
- Thoroughly checking, washing, assembling, and packing sets of surgical instruments to meet contract specifications while maintaining quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring sterilization equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilizers).
- Documenting repairs and tracking missing instruments or equipment using the Tracking and Traceability computer system.
- Ensuring that repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock or to the designated personnel.

Access to a Level 2 Healthcare Science Assistant Apprenticeship, a fully funded 12-15 month program focusing on good scientific practices applicable across the healthcare profession. You will be allocated 20% of your working hours for study towards this qualification, with further apprenticeship opportunities available throughout your career.
