Job Title: Engineering Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our design and draughting teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, personnel development, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Engineering team operates in accordance with WESL procedures, policies, and standard working practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to design and draughting teams, including troubleshooting and ensuring compliance with specifications and industry/HSE standards.
- Actively participate in and complete engineering tasks where necessary, including design or draughting activities to support project completion and team efforts.
- Work with planning and project management teams to identify key work pack deliverables and priorities.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of all Engineering deliverables, including managing schedule deliverables, budgets, resources, and assisting with successful project delivery.
- Set design and draughting budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ensure that budgets are reviewed and communicated on a frequent basis.
- Proactively identify and manage change to minimize impact on delivery programme and budget.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, draughtsmen, and technical apprentices, including recruiting, training, and developing staff, and creating a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Assist in setting team goals and objectives and conducting performance and development reviews with direct reports.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs, expectations, and potential future scopes, ensuring client requirements are met throughout project delivery.
- Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing and potential clients.
- Develop proposals, provide budgets/estimates, and involvement in negotiations.
- Monitor and maintain engineering-related processes within the business to ensure alignment with current standards and industry best practices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and membership of a recognized Engineering Institution.
- Proven knowledge and experience in delivering large engineering scopes.
- Previous experience in an engineering management role.
- Due to the nature of the projects undertaken, applications are only open to UK nationals.
- The successful applicant will undertake BPSS and potentially SC clearance.
Working Hours:
Monday - Thursday (Core Hours 0900 - 1700 hrs). Friday - 0900 - 1600 hrs.
