As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals on their journey to independence and recovery. Your compassionate and adaptable nature will be essential as you engage with clients from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate the challenges they face.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Provide support to individuals aged 18 and older with mental health diagnoses, ensuring a smooth transition into supported housing.
  • Meet with clients weekly to offer emotional and practical assistance, focusing on developing essential life skills.
  • Assist clients with various tasks, including financial management, bill payments, and maintaining a clean living environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare properties for new residents.
  • Support individuals with complex needs, including those dealing with addiction or past offenses.
  • Work within the Personal Budget Service to deliver tailored support to clients, helping them achieve their personal goals.
  • Engage with clients in their homes and the community, providing customized assistance based on their unique challenges.
Qualifications

No prior experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided. However, candidates with an understanding of mental health issues or personal experience are encouraged to apply. The most important qualities are:

  • A caring and empathetic demeanor.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a varied caseload effectively.
